Description :
TITLE: Patient Care Technician (Float Pool)
Emerson Hospital in Concord, Massachusetts is seeking an experienced Patient Care Technician to join their Float Pool on a 13-week contract . This is a deferred schedule position with 12-hour night shifts (7:00 p.m. 7:30 a.m.) , working 36 guaranteed hours per week with the option to increase to 48 hours/week if desired.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
Required :
Travel experience required
Acute care experience required
BLS required
CNA preferred
Local candidates preferred
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with patient transport and transfers
Administer oxygen via nasal cannula, NRB, and BVM
Apply NIBP, ECG electrodes, pulse oximetry, and capnography monitoring
Respond to patient call lights and family requests as appropriate
Support patient safety and provide age-appropriate care
Assist with activities of daily living within scope
Float to various units as needed
Report changes in patient condition promptly to the RN
Accurately obtain, document, and report vital signs
Measure and document intake and output
Perform capillary blood glucose testing and ECGs
Participate in unit or hospital improvement projects
Perform other duties as assigned
