Job Title: Work From Home Pharmacy Technician – Prior Authorization
Location: Remote (Work From Home) – Must reside in the U.S.
Job Type: Full-Time (Training required, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM CT; Work hours 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM CT; Mandatory OT as needed)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our remote team. This role involves taking incoming calls from members and providers, assisting with prior authorization requests, and ensuring accurate documentation of approvals and denials. All clinical judgment calls are transferred to the pharmacist.
Responsibilities:
Provide professional phone assistance for prior authorization requests.
Maintain complete, timely, and accurate documentation of all approvals and denials.
Transfer clinical questions or judgment calls to the pharmacist.
Utilize MS Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel to manage communications and documentation.
Provide excellent written and verbal customer service.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Pharmacy Technician license/certification preferred but not required (state or national). Trainee licenses considered.
Minimum 1 year experience as a pharmacy technician coordinating administrative support functions preferred.
Advanced computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, MS Office Suite).
Ability to sit and focus for entire shift without interruptions.
Must have a dedicated, quiet, HIPAA-compliant workspace with hard-wired internet (minimum 25 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload).
Additional Requirements:
Ability to attend training sessions fully (mandatory for success).
Must be comfortable taking and managing phone calls professionally.
Candidates must provide screenshot of internet speed and Pharm Tech license/certification (if applicable) at resume submission.
Basic computer skills may be tested, and results attached to resume.
