*Senior Systems Engineer*
*Remote/Hybrid (Kentucky)*
*$40-45/hr*
*Long Term -Contract*
This position will be part of the System Center Team under the Enterprise Operations and Monitoring branch. The primary responsibility of this team is to provide in-depth troubleshooting and diagnosis for issues that arise. The role works closely with other groups in the IT Operations team as well as various government client agencies. This position will utilize tools such as Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) and Dynatrace to monitor the client’s enterprise environment. This includes over 160 applications and over 500 servers within Dynatrace, as well as many others within SCOM.
The position also includes duties associated with the ITSM platform, ServiceNow. The role will interact directly with ITOM and CMDB Service Mapping to develop relationships between applications and the IT infrastructure. The client has maintained a mature installation of Dynatrace, SCOM, and ServiceNow ITOM since 2020. The team is seeking to expand and mature the capabilities of these platforms and continue automating internal processes.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Provide subject matter expertise in the design, configuration, and implementation of the following applications within the current enterprise environment:
* Enterprise-level monitoring including advanced troubleshooting with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager and Dynatrace.
* Maintain and mature the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
* Maintain and enhance ServiceNow Discovery configurations.
* Identify and correct issues related to Configuration Management, Discovery, and Service Mapping, including CI identification, reconciliation, normalization, ownership, and relationships.
* Develop CMDB configuration reports and dashboards.
* Provide configuration support for hardware and software asset management as it relates to ITOM functionality.
* Support requirement gathering sessions and user story development.
* Assist developers to ensure the quality and design of functional capabilities are realized.
* Research and evaluate technical solutions to make informed recommendations on the most appropriate, efficient, and cost-effective solution based on requirements and statements of work.
* Participate in product roadmap planning.
*Requirements:*
* Minimum of 5 years of relevant IT experience.
* Experience in enterprise monitoring, including advanced troubleshooting of complex environmental/application issues.
* Experience with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager and Dynatrace for enterprise-level monitoring.
* Proficiency with scripting in PowerShell, JavaScript, and Python.
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent professional experience.
* Effective troubleshooting skills across data center infrastructure components – network, F5, operating systems, SAN, virtualization.
* Excellent communication skills to provide timely updates on issues, projects, and troubleshooting.

* Certified ServiceNow Implementation Specialist – Discovery
* Certified ServiceNow Systems Administrator
* Minimum of 3 years of configuration experience with the ServiceNow platform
