JOB PURPOSE:

  • Lead the end-to-end planning, design, development, and testing of software systems and applications focused on user experience (UX), including cloud-based and internet-connected tools.
  • Utilize full-stack development methodologies while ensuring cybersecurity compliance. Manage large-scale projects and provide technical mentorship to junior engineers, contributing to the delivery of innovative, secure, and user-centric software solutions.
  • This role involves mentoring junior engineers, influencing product direction, and ensuring technical excellence. 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Design, implement, test, and debug complex software applications using languages such as Java, Python, and C++, integrating advanced features and optimizing system performance. Architect and maintain scalable, high-performance, and secure software infrastructures; lead architectural reviews and contribute strategic input to system design.
  • Manage large-scale software development projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and alignment with business objectives through effective cross-functional coordination.
  • Conduct rigorous code reviews to uphold coding standards and best practices, while mentoring junior developers and fostering technical growth within the team.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and API references to support development and integration. Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex software issues through root cause analysis, implementing long-term corrective actions to enhance system reliability.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • A Bachelor's level degree / diploma in Computer Science / Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Electronics / EE, Information Technology, or a related field of study

Minimum Experience:

  • 8 or more years of experience in software development.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, and C++, with the ability to apply them across diverse development environments.
  • Experienced in both front-end and back-end development, with a solid understanding of full-stack architecture and integration.
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies, including Kanban and Scrum, with practical experience in iterative development and team collaboration.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud, including deployment and service integration.
  • Must be knowledgeable in database management systems, including both SQL and NoSQL technologies, for efficient data modeling and access.

Other Job-Specific Skills:

  • Should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, enabling effective teamwork across multidisciplinary groups.
  • Capable of working independently, managing time efficiently, and prioritizing tasks to meet project deadlines.
  • Hands-on experience in GUI development using modern tools and frameworks, with a focus on usability and performance.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, ensuring secure design and implementation of software systems

 

Workstyle:
This position will require the employee to work onsite at our local office at Raymond, OH at least 4 days per workweek. One remote workday a week may be possible with pior departmental approval.
