Senior Systems Analyst – MES (Hybrid, Novato, CA)

I’m working with a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer that is seeking a Senior MES Systems Analyst to join their team in Novato. This is a key role for someone experienced with PAS‑X who wants to help shape and support large‑scale manufacturing operations.

About the Role

In this position, you’ll serve as the technical lead for the site’s Manufacturing Execution System (MES) , playing a central role in configuring, maintaining, and enhancing the Körber PAS‑X platform . You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure the MES supports efficient, compliant manufacturing processes.

You’ll also manage and optimise critical SAP–MES integrations , ensuring consistent data flow across production, quality, and supply chain systems. This role offers the opportunity to influence both day‑to‑day operations and broader digital transformation initiatives, including system upgrades, migrations, and interface enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

MES Administration & Configuration

• Administer the MES application, manage user access, and execute IQ/OQ protocols.
• Configure MES system master data, develop test MBRs, and support validation testing.
• Work closely with the IT Infrastructure team on MES environment setup, database configuration, and third‑party application installation.

System Integrations & Testing

• Configure and support Level 4 interfaces between MES and systems such as SAP and LIMS.
• Create and execute test protocols for system enhancements and interface updates.
• Configure and validate EDI queries and external reporting tools (e.g., Power BI).

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

• Lead troubleshooting for MES application issues, interface failures, and performance concerns.
• Support audits, inspections, vendor workshops, and FAT/SAT activities.
• Investigate and lead corrective actions for MES‑related deviations.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain MES configuration documentation, SOPs, and work instructions.
• Implement application updates, enhancements, and change controls.
• Monitor MES health indicators and generate reports for internal stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 3–5 years of industry experience, with 2+ years in an MES‑focused role.
• Hands‑on experience with Körber PAS‑X MES .
• Strong technical skills with the ability to navigate IT systems, databases, and integrations.
• Excellent documentation, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.

Nice to Have:

• 5+ years total industry experience with 3–5 years in MES.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA .

Education

• BA/BS in a science or engineering field (or equivalent experience).

Work Environment

• Hybrid : minimum of 2 onsite days per week.
• Additional onsite support may be required during MES project phases.
• Monday–Friday, approx. 08:00–17:00.
