We are looking for a dedicated Property Accountant to join our team in Watertown, Massachusetts. In this role, you will oversee financial operations for real estate properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This position offers an opportunity to work with a dynamic team in a fast-paced industry.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the full-cycle accounting process for assigned properties, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.

• Perform month-end close activities, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.

• Maintain and update general ledger accounts, ensuring compliance with accrual accounting principles.

• Utilize Yardi software to track and analyze property financials, generating detailed reports as needed.

• Prepare and review budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support decision-making.

• Reconcile bank accounts and oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.

• Collaborate with property management teams to ensure accurate financial documentation and reporting.

• Conduct audits and reviews to ensure adherence to internal controls and industry standards.

• Assist in preparing tax filings and other regulatory documentation for properties.

• Provide recommendations for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in property accounting, preferably within the real estate industry.
• Proficiency in Yardi software for property management and accounting tasks.
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles and general ledger management.
• Demonstrated ability to perform month-end close processes accurately and efficiently.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in financial reporting and reconciliation.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
