Job Summary and Responsibilities Dignity Health Medical Group - Arizona seeks an
Orthopedic - Hand Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Gilbert, AZ .
This position will perform:
- Weekly clinic coverage working alongside the Physician.
- Possible after hours call for emergent patient needs transferred from after hours call service.
- Rounding in the hospital.
- Administer injections with and without ultrasound guidance.
- Surgical first assisting, including wound closure and splint application.
- Maintain current knowledge of orthopedic practices through continuing medical education.
- Order, interpret and analyze diagnostic tests.
- Prescribe and administer medications and physical therapy as necessary.
- Participants in quality assurance and quality improvement for patient care.
- Works within a multidisciplinary team.
- Additional duties as assigned by leadership.
Job Requirements PA Requirements: - Degree as a Physician Assistant
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Background in pre-m ed preferred
- Minimum 3 years orthopedic PA experience, preferably in an acute setting.
- Must hold and maintain: a.) AZ Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants License, b.) NCCPA - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant.
- Valid DEA registration.
- Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff
NP Requirements: - Master's Degree in nursing. Graduate of accredited program for nurse practitioners
- Compact state or Arizona RN license
- Arizona Advanced Practice Nurse license
- Surgical First Assist certification
- Minimum of 3 years orthopedic NP experience, preferably in an acute setting.
- Must hold and maintain National Certificate as a nurse practitioner in area of specialty under AZ regulations: a.) NP-AACN, b.) NP-AANP, c.) NP-ANCC, or d). NP-PNCB
- Valid DEA registration
- Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff
