HJPhoto is a leader in school event photography, specializing in capturing sports games, homecomings, proms, banquets, and other school functions. We are seeking skilled, experienced photographers to join our network of independent contractors to cover these dynamic and fast-paced events.

Job Summary

As an Event Photographer with HJPhoto, you will photograph school events without the need for editing or post-processingsimply capture the action, and we handle the rest.

This is a 1099 contractor position, giving you the flexibility to accept assignments based on your availability.

We are looking for photographers with their own professional equipment, a strong understanding of event and sports photography, and the ability to deliver high-quality images in fast-paced, low-light, and unpredictable conditions.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Photograph school events, including but not limited to:
• Sports games
• Homecomings
• Proms
• Banquets
• Other special occasions
• Capture high-quality images that meet HJPhoto's standards.
• Work independently to cover live-action moments and dynamic scenes with precision and creativity.
• Deliver images promptly according to company guidelines.
• Maintain a professional and engaging presence when interacting with students, school staff, and attendees.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Use professional-grade equipment to ensure high-quality image capture in various lighting and action conditions.
• Travel to event locations punctually and prepared, ready to shoot on schedule.
• Follow company guidelines for image organization and submission.
• Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and functioning for each event.
• Communicate effectively with the HJPhoto team regarding assignments and expectations.

Qualifications

• Prior event and/or sports photography experience highly encouraged
• Must have professional photography equipment, including:
• DSLR or mirrorless camera
• Fast lenses
• External flash
• Ability to capture high-quality images in fast-moving and low-light environments
• Strong time management skills with the ability to deliver photos within required deadlines (Uploaded unedited images to Dropbox, same day as event photographed)
• Professional and customer-friendly attitude when interacting with students, school staff, and event attendees
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to various event locations
• Must be legally eligible to work as a 1099 independent contractor in the United States

• Valid car Insurance
• Ability to stand and move for extended periods while carrying equipment
• Comfortable working in outdoor and indoor event settings
• Ability to lift and transport photography gear
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-energy environments
