About the Role:

The Depot Driver plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and timely transportation of goods between the depot and various delivery points within the Greenville area. This position requires a dependable individual who can manage vehicle operations safely while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. The driver will be responsible for loading and unloading cargo, verifying shipment contents, and maintaining accurate delivery records. Effective communication with dispatchers and customers is essential to coordinate schedules and resolve any delivery issues promptly. Ultimately, the Depot Driver contributes to the overall success of the supply chain by providing reliable and professional transportation services.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle class operated.
  • Clean driving record with no recent violations or accidents.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items safely, typically up to 50 pounds.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills to read delivery instructions and complete paperwork.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings or weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a depot or delivery driver in a logistics or transportation environment.
  • Familiarity with Greenville and surrounding areas to optimize delivery routes.
  • Experience using GPS and electronic logging devices (ELDs).
  • Customer service experience to handle delivery interactions professionally.
  • Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge to perform minor repairs or troubleshooting.
Responsibilities:
  • Operate company vehicles to transport goods from the depot to designated locations and return safely.
  • Load and unload cargo, ensuring items are handled carefully and secured properly for transit.
  • Verify shipment contents against delivery documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents during transit.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to confirm delivery schedules and address any concerns.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
  • Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while driving.
