Cyber Triage and Forensics - Junior Analyst Other locations: Anywhere in Region Requisition ID: 1636664 About the role Cyber Triage and Forensics (CTF) – The Cyber Defense Response Center is responsible for monitoring and detecting information security events that could adversely impact EY information assets and resources. Its mission is aligned with the incident response and attack lifecycles. A qualified candidate will have the opportunity to work with highly talented cyber security experts to learn and develop new skills. The candidate will be exposed to many technologies and security tools while working with EY and will have career growth opportunities. CTF provides training to analysts. Your key responsibilities Perform front‑line, accurate and precise real‑time monitoring and correlation of logs and alerts from a multitude of security devices to determine which events constitute security incidents. Work cross‑functionally to detect and respond to information security incidents, develop, maintain, and follow procedures for security event alerting, and participate in security investigations. Operate at a technical level, identify threats and vectors that cause security events, and follow defined procedures for mitigating said threats. Skills and attributes for success Respond to network, cloud and host‑based security events. Participate in detecting, investigating, and resolving security events. Work independently. Identify and propose areas for improvement within Cyber Triage and Forensics. Demonstrate good interpersonal skills. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or 2‑3 years of related work experience. Experience Minimum of 1‑2 years in a Security Monitoring/Security Operations Center (SOC) environment. Experience investigating security events, threats and/or vulnerabilities. Demonstrated incident‑handling ability. Analysis of log output from various devices. Understanding of electronic investigation and log correlation. Proficiency with the latest intrusion detection platforms. Working knowledge of Windows administration (including AD) and/or Linux. Ideally, you’ll also have Information Security principles, technologies, and practices. Experience with multiple security event detection platforms. Thorough understanding of TCP/IP. Integrity in a professional environment. Good communication and technical writing skills. Comfortable troubleshooting Windows system issues. Desired certifications—any security certification. What we look for Under limited supervision, the CTF Analyst I reports to the CTF Global Service Manager. The analyst performs monitoring, research, classification, and analysis of security events that occur on the network or endpoint. Familiarity with network and endpoint security, threat and attack trends, OSI model, cloud security, and defense‑in‑depth strategies is expected. What we offer you The compensation ranges below are provided to comply with United States pay transparency laws. The base salary range for this job in the US is $60,400 to $109,600. Individual salaries are determined by various factors including education, experience, skills, and geography.
