CTO | $300K-$330K + Hybrid + Equity | High Growth Legal Tech Startup

  • Full-time
  • Compensation: USD 300,000 - USD 330,000 yearly
  • Hybrid role in San Francisco Bay Area (Emeryville) 2-3 days in office
  • Completely remote work environment
  • Full-time contract position

This role calls for a highly articulate CTO who is comfortable representing our client: Speaking on stage and serving as a public ambassador for the company, their technology, vision, and what they represent.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Define the technical roadmap and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Oversee architecture, design, and implementation of our platform built on Angular (frontend), .NET/C# (backend), SQL, and related technologies.
  • Manage software development lifecycle using GitHub, Azure DevOps, and other tools to ensure high-quality releases.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and customerfacing teams to deliver solutions that meet business and customer needs.
  • Ensure scalability, security, and reliability of the platform as the company grows.
  • Recruit and retain top engineering talent, building a highperforming, motivated team.

Qualifications

  • 710+ years of software engineering leadership experience in B2B SaaS companies.
  • Proven ability to act as an external technical spokesperson, including presenting complex technical concepts clearly to customers, partners, and nontechnical audiences, and representing the company on stage, on calls, and in publicfacing settings.
  • Development experience in Angular, .NET/C#, SQL, and Azure.
  • Must have experience building AI into a SaaS product and using AI to optimize team productivity.
  • Proven experience building and maturing DevOps, infrastructure ops, SaaS ops, performance management, and security ops.
  • Strong experience building reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure, maximizing security, performance, and functionality.
  • Solid understanding of modern development practices, CI/CD, version control (Git), and DevOps workflows.
  • Experience managing teams of engineers, including mentoring, hiring, and performance management.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels of client organizations.
  • Must be able to work in a fastpaced environment with the ability to prioritize, multitask, perform well under pressure, meet deadlines, and wear multiple hats.
  • Excited to work in a startup environment; you have a track record of being adaptable to changing priorities in a fluid, highgrowth environment.
