We are seeking a Commercial Roofing Estimator / Project Manager to support operations in St. Louis, MO .
The Estimator / Project Manager is responsible for estimating, scheduling, and managing commercial roofing projects from initial bid through closeout. This role ensures all work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget, while adhering to project specifications, contractual requirements, and established roofing standards. The position reports to the Operating Unit President.
Primary Responsibilities
Review contracts to ensure full understanding of project scope, responsibilities, and deliverables
Identify and resolve deviations from plans, specifications, schedules, or contract requirements
Prepare accurate estimates using blueprints, specifications, field notes, drawings, and on-site inspections
Conduct field inspections and gather measurements, photographs, and sketches to support pricing
Prepare and submit proposals to customers
Communicate effectively with owners, architects, engineers, general contractors, and property managers
Attend and lead meetings related to pre-bid, project startup, sales, and job progress
Develop project budgets, submittals, equipment needs, purchase orders, material lists, manpower plans, lodging, and transportation logistics
Oversee jobsite safety and conduct pre-job safety analyses
Track job costs against estimates, budgets, and approved change orders
Manage project closeouts and ensure warranty documentation is obtained
Execute and manage subcontractor agreements
Prepare month-end Work-in-Progress (WIP) and cost-to-complete reports
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
Minimum of four (4) years of experience in commercial roofing or the construction industry
Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high sense of urgency
Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
Familiarity with project management software
Extensive knowledge of commercial roofing materials, systems, techniques, and requirements
Working knowledge of business and management principles
Valid driver’s license required
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and visit active job sites approximately 50% of the time, including working at heights
Strong verbal and written communication skills
